City councillor Guido Frankfurther
(D66) for central Amsterdam has also forbidden the cruel and pointless
killing of pigeons in the city centre of Amsterdam. You
can find their press announcement here - if you can read Dutch. The
pigeon loft has been paid for by the city council and will be looked after
by volunteers from the Landelijke Werkgroep Duivenoverlast.
More and more cities in Holland are
in favour of this effective and animal-friendly method to reduce and prevent
annoyance and damage caused by pigeons. Not only in Rotterdam but also
in Zutphen and Soest for example, pigeon lofts are now becoming the preferred
